This article is relevant to POWERUP 3.0, Dart and 4.0.
If you periodically charge your POWERUP module, you can expect the battery to stay healthy for years. A product which is discarded for a long time without charging may become unusable due to the normal process of battery discharge. A battery that is discharged below 2.2V may become permanently unusable and will require replacement.
Safety note: Replacing a battery requires some tinkering and is done at the customers risk entirely. Replacing a battery cancels the product warranty.
Tools: precision Phillips screwdriver, soldering iron, solder.
Important note:
POWERUP DART and POWERUP 3.0 sold after October 2017 are equipped with a connector for a quick replacement, this eliminates the need for soldering!
POWERUP 4.0 requires a soldering Iron.
You can purchase a replacement battery on the Internet. POWERUPTOYS.com does not sell replacement batteries.
