Although both kits allow you to fly paper airplanes for long periods of time there are some major differences between the kits.
PowerUp 3.0 is our latest product, allowing you to remotely control a paper airplane via your smartphone's Bluetooth capability. Using our application you can control the motor's power for descending or ascending during flight; and the rudder for changing direction.
This gives the pilot full control of the airplane during flight and could allow for flight times of five minutes or more. To experience some of the longest paper airplane flights you will ever have simply focus on managing these three areas: work to keep the airplane inside the Bluetooth range (around 55 meters / 180 feet), keep the battery fully charged between flights, and monitor that your airplane's control surfaces are correctly adjusted.
Your main challenge with the PowerUp 3.0 will be to keep a pattern of flight.
PowerUp 3.0 is for 14+ years of age.
PowerUp Free Flight (2.0) has no remote control capabilities, as it is a free flight kit. The essence of free-flight is that the aircraft will have no need for external controls, such as cables or radio waves.
When you work with an aircraft that provides you no way to control it during the flight your main challenges and areas to focus on will be in your pre-flight routines. By adjusting the control surfaces correctly, you can create a circular flight pattern, as the airplane constantly change the direction of flight. To assist in creating a circular flight pattern an important pref-light process would be to trim the control surfaces without the motor running.
Your main challenge with PowerUp Free Flight will be making the correct adjustments prior to the launch.
PowerUp Free Flight (2.0) is for 8+ years of age.
