Hobby foam aircraft
AnsweredTrying 2 designs. Bought some 5 mm hobby foam. Its rigid, light and easy to work with. I'm setting up trim using weights before adding the module. Will post dimensions later, if interested.

Hi Jake, I was lazy and just used the generic settings. The black one was twitchy for setting CoG and I tried taking the wing tips off, The white one was too stable. The Powerup 4.0 module was plenty strong to fly it but the wingspan may have been too much and didn't want to turn. I had also built a hybrid using the black wing design and the inverted V tail. That also flew straight and true but didn't want to turn. I cut 2 inches off the wing tips and it still didn't want to turn.
I have been looking at building that milk carton design but out of that hobby foam. Have taken a break to concentrate on my job and degree.
I would like Powerup to make a V 5.0 but using 2 servos and a motor.

Wow both of those look very interesting. Are those just paper and glue? I got my first power up 3.0 some years back. I was especially fascinated by the rudder control. Would be really cool to find some more information about custom builds like this. I have one working 3.0 and one that the battery cable corroded off the board. To be fair it was missing in the vegetation for a long time. I also have two powerup 4 modules, and plenty of parts and accessories. Does anyone make tutorials for using the various accessories to fasten the powerup to various airframe that are not paper planes? I have some accessories packs and what not. Also, is there a custom blue tooth controller or another device that isn't a phone or tablet I can use to control my powerup? Maybe the next phone I buy I'll have to make sure it has a powerful bluetooth module so I don't have to chase the plane as much.
p.s. has anyone made a blimp?
