Dual Control
CompletedA friend of ours visited with her 8-year-old daughter, who just so happens to be a big fan of paper planes. Despite her short years, by the end of the afternoon, she was pulling off loops, nose-diving and pulling up so as to skim the grass, and even pulling off some low-altitude level flight.
Absolutely impressive stuff, though it did involve a good few instances of trusting an 8-year-old to not fly my PowerUp in to the top of one of the 10-meter-tall trees in that park. Would there be any way to configure a second handset to act as a secondary steering device that can cut in if required?
Ideally, something that could seamlessly send a one-time command that cuts the engine, or a bank left / bank right command to affect something close to a 90 or 180 degree change of bearing. Alternatively, just a second handset that can instantly tell the first to transfer control entirely?
(While I've got you, I'd also like to say that the two little fins either side of the aerial seem to be working great at reducing wear on the material. I'd made a small conical spring out of 28 gauge wire for my earlier models and mounted it with a soldering iron to sit around the base of the aerials - it didn't impact signal strength noticeably, though I don't have an easy way to measure the impact precisely, so can't know for sure.!)
