Add the ability to control more than one POWERUP 4.0 with one phone

Yesterday I tested a small LEGO catamaran powerboat I built, which was powered by two POWERUP 4.0 modules. The two modules gave it enough power to be able to run upstream at considerable speed, but I had to use two phones to control the units. Is it possible to add a feature that enables control of more than one POWERUP 4.0 modules with a single phone? Steering would be accomplished through differential thrust between the units and they should be placed symmetrical to the longitudinal axis of the craft. A feature like this would unlock the potential to build even heavier planes that would resemble the F-82 Twin Mustang!
