Meet the Faraday Flyer – the very first model in our new Pioneers in Flight series!
Designed by Brad Williamson of Nighthawk Gliders for the POWERUP 2.0 Free Flight Module, this balsa wood airplane pays tribute to legendary inventor Michael Faraday, whose discoveries in electricity and capacitance inspire the very technology that powers POWERUP 2.0.
In this video, Brad shows you step-by-step how to build the Faraday Flyer:
- What tools and materials you’ll need
- How to assemble your balsa wood flyer
- Tips for getting the best free-flight performance with your PowerUp 2.0
Each kit in the Project Pioneers series includes a special Pioneer Card – an educational insert packed with fun facts about the featured inventor and their scientific breakthroughs. The Faraday Flyer’s card explores capacitance and Faraday’s role in unlocking the secrets of electricity. It’s hands-on flight plus a spark of STEM learning in every build!
Join us as we celebrate invention, engineering, and the joy of flight. 🚀
